Shu Uemura Abracadabra Fantasy Inspired Look

Posted a teaser for this look late yesterday evening as I wanted to end the day on a high note.

The poster of the Shu Uemura + Aya Takano Abracadabra Fantasy Collection

My interpretation of the look - model on right

(same pic as yesterday's post - flash)

For the eye products used
- MAC Painterly Pot for base
- JEP Milk
- NYX Aloha
- Urban Decay Uzi
- NYX Irises
- MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
- Taiwan Handmade Falsies #198
- Lancome Hypnose mascara in Black

(no flash)

To be honest it looks quite bad when the eyes are closed because of my lack of skills at putting on falsies. The left eye was so messed up. Truly the look would have been better without falsies. But then it is all about practice isn't it?

Speaking of falsies, I need your help guys ... what eyelash glue is best? Preferably one available locally so it can be bought this weekend. The Shu lash glue is all congealed from lack of use. Thanks!

Unfortunately out of those 150 pics taken, most were unusable. It did not help that I started at 9:30pm and had to leave by 10pm to go pick the husband up from his guy's night out. No natural light for pictures either so tons of ugly pictures with bad light. Will work on pictures.

Still had fun doing the look! It's good to try new things and experiment. The husband said the look was very sci-fi - guess because of all the blue and the color on top of the brows :D

The rest of the face most of the usual suspects
  • Brows - Shu Uemura Hard 9 pencil
  • Cheeks - Shu Uemura Glow On in M 30 Pink -- applied from temple in close 'C' under eye like in poster but did not show up in pics even though piled it on
  • Base - Monistat Anti-Chafing Gel
  • Foundation - Revlon Colorstay in Medium Beige
  • Lips - Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited + NYX lip gloss

I'm Commander Shepard and This is My Favorite Makeup Look on The Citadel

The camera angle making me look horribly ... disproportionate .... body not matching head. I took some other pictures making uber goofy faces and pointing to the slogan .. on my chest ... yeah, that wasn't the brightest of ideas at all.

A wee bit disappointed that the pictures did not turn out as I loved the look. The pictures do not do it justice and it's something I would wear out again - even the color on top of the brows. I'd ditch the falsies as there is no way I can make it as seamless as they did in the promo poster. Photoshop a part of it, perhaps? Without the falsies the eyeliner can also be thinned down so more of the blue would show as well.

Aww don't be disappointed, I though some of the close up pics were good, and I don't see what's wrong with the falsies, really!

Well, to be truthful, I take over 100+ pictures and sometimes less than 5 is use able. So no worries there.

Also, no pictures goes on tv/advertisement without having been photoshopped. Everything you see in the magazine is all photoshopped. All including food.

They use mash potatoes to 'represent' ice cream (better texture and doesn't melt), cover the chicken with lacquer to make it look more shiny and it's normal. :P

We'll never look as good as the girls in the posters.. unless we photoshop too

Awww you're so sweet and supportive. Thank you.

You're so right about Photoshop. Wish I had the skills to do that - or want to do that, I see enough of it at work :D But I feel like in a way it would be misrepresentation if I do it. Who knows.

Any recs for eyelash glue? Can we get Duo glue from MAC stores here in M'sia?

Wow, you took over 100+ pics? Amazing..Usually i took only 5-6, if not nice I give up on it. Haha..Ok. I'm a very lazy person. :p

Ditto on several points. I too take a ridiculous amount of pictures and then cut them down to, like, a half-dozen or so. Haha. And I reallly wish I was adept at photoshop. I could always look flawless if I wished.

Anyway, those colours look so bold! :] I love the blending and how they reflect back the light from the camera flash. I sympathize with the fact that flash sometimes makes good things look wonky.

Also... SG:A reference? <33

@slowbrogal - Not so patient actually as looking through 100+ pics is so tiring. I take bad pictures as like half of them are all blurry or i look craaaaazy :D

@Noxin - at least now with digital cameras we can take a ton of pictures, then just delete!

The t-shirt is from a game I'm absolutely obsessed with called Mass Effect 1&2. Although I am watching SG:A season 5 right now. SG:A fan?

hey shu! I think you effort deserves a A+! I love the Star + Lash + Blue EOTD u did. The pictures are okie imho! just your top didn't match. Plus u know lah.. those models, they had their pics taken in the studio with big lights and flashy camera.. different from yours! the photo I like the most is the first one, I think the contrast is lovely on the dark black background and your blue eyeshadow and pink lips is looking good!

@Miu - thank you :) yeah t-shirt no match, didn't have any angelic wispy pink dresses like the poster.
