GEO Angel Brown CM-834 Circle Lens - Review

I never gave colored/circle lenses a try mostly because I was afraid people would judge me (as in wanting to be less asian blah blah) and then now because I think I am far too old for it. You know what? Who cares! There is more to life than that.

First up an admission - I'm a total circle lens newbie. So instead of something super drastic I went for something fairly tame. GEO Angel Brown CM-834 (BC 8.60, DIA 14.0).

These lenses were purchased from Geo-Lens House on Facebook by myself for RM30 - shipping inclusive. The order was made on Thursday and the package was sent out the next working day, arriving the following day. They are highly recommended as e-mails were answered quickly which is especially reassuring to a newbie like me with a few extra questions.

For the record my eyesight is really bad - prescription is 625 (L) and 650(R). The optician says that for contact lenses you should take a lower prescription (or power, as we call it here), i think because of the distance of the glasses from your eyes compared to the contact lenses. That's just a guess so please check with your own optician. I also have slight astigmatism but do not have any numbers off the top of my head - last time prescription was checked was over a year ago.

Each GEO lens comes with an authenticity sticker at the bottom. You can scratch off the silver part "Authenticity Check Scratch Here!" and then type in the 20 digit code at this website - http://geo.fw1860.com/. The website looks well fairly low-tech and questionable but I tried both of them out and the text came on in blue underneath saying they were authentic. Subsequent entry of the codes will give a red warning saying that the codes have already been checked/entered, which is great as codes cannot be re-used by unscrupulous fake lens makers.

I had trouble opening the bottle at first. You just need to look around the bottle at the top silver part for a mark, Geo's ones are like a >>> upwards, then push there with your thumb. It will pop off then slowly peel back the metal part carefully as it has sharp edges.

The lenses were soaked overnight in the contact lens case with solution (Renu). I do wear monthly contact lenses (Bausch & Lomb Soflens 38s) but only on weekends and not to work - work in front of the PC all day. I was excited but more than a little worried as previously when switching to other contact lens brands - especially Acuvue or their colored contact lens, the lenses would slip on my eye. It wouldn't sit right making my vision blurry and the colored part not fitting on the iris. Wasted a ton of money on those boxes of contacts so was worried that this would be a wash too.

So this morning not being able to wait for an appropriate time - to take more decent pictures, and not rush it - I decided to try them out immediately.

They went in fine, in fact for a moment there I couldn't feel anything in my eye and was worried that they dropped out! They were that comfortable. The placement of the color was great and it didn't slip. They're super!

It's not a stark difference but it is a nice enhancement. I'm going to have fun wearing these on the weekend.

Update - 2 more pics in this post from the weekend.
