Back-to-MAC, Dinner & Games

On Sunday we were at Sunway Pyramid and I took the chance to exchanged 6 MAC eyeshadow pots depotted earlier in the week for the Back-to-MAC program. I was under the mistaken impression that it was for eyeshadows and lipsticks but it is only just lipsticks. The website even states it as such.

Should have checked the website before heading there as I had my heart set on Club :( Instead picked up Lipblossum (Lustre). It usually retails for RM63.

It is gorgeous. A very nice pink which was chosen specifically to replace most of the Shu Uemura pinks which are all down to nubs.

(natural light)

This is only my second MAC lipstick because I was very disappointed with Brave (Satin). Brave is quite matte so it accentuates the lines in my lips and makes it look very dry. I should have checked out the other finishes instead as Lustre is beautiful! Amplified Creme, Amplified and Cremesheen also caught my eye and I will check them out in the future. I do like how there is a scent/taste to the lipstick but it is pleasant and non offensive. For information about lipstick finishes check out Koren's video.

(L-R: MAC lipstick Brave (Satin), LipBlossum (Lustre), NYX Vanilla Sky)

I included NYX's Vanilla Sky as it arrived late last week. I haven't played around much with it besides wearing a little on Sunday. It is yellower than expected.

The full face picture above was after we got back and I couldn't wait to do a lip swatch of MAC LipBlossum! So here's the FOTD taken before leaving the house earlier in the day.
You can't really see much besides a little unblended-ness on the left. Also tried out MAC's Sumptuous Olive picked up last week to blend the eyeliner a smidge. It is quite unnoticeable so perhaps I need to amp up my eye makeup? Honestly I already feel overdone as it is when I look in the mirror so maybe my perception is off.

In other news that dinner was a success. We lost track of time because everyone was having so much fun (i hope). I feel all adult and such having successfully entertained guests in our house. It sounds really lame at such an age but hey I'm a noob at this and hello we just got our first house 3 months ago plus our dining table like a whole week and a half ago. Let me gloat a second here :)

The husband grilled burgers and hot dogs to perfection as usual. We wanted to keep it casual as there would be kids around and it was perfect. Everyone tucked in and no food was left! The cheesecake that I rushed to make on Friday evening after work turned out great despite my earlier tweet about it being all cracked on top. The glaze came out thick so I glazed it as usual instead of 'Jackson Pollock'-ing it on so it covered the boo-boo perfectly. The recipe: Nigella Lawson's Chocolate Cheesecake. It is rich in chocolatey yumminess but not sweet because of the bittersweet choc. I also subbed Oreos for Digestives. I don't have a mixer so did it all by hand but thanks to this, the mixer is going to #1 on the wishlist as trying to cream the cream cheese (ironic much?) was torture!

Gratuitous picture of our dining table because I am even more in love with it now. It's strange how the dining table just fills the room up nicely making the room feel 'done'. I still sort of hate the yellow (supposedly gold) curtains and bare walls but that will be rectified a few months down the line.

It was an eventful satisfying weekend. I also got to play quite a bit of Bayonetta to continue quite a bit through the game. It has some seriously laugh out loud moments in the cut scenes. I really want her outfit! It is seriously making me think about cosplaying! Also played a smidge of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 because husband was replaying it and the disc was in. I always figured I could never play first person shooters because I would get dizzy or nauseated when I tried out those PC games back in the day like Doom or Rebel Assault. That is until we picked up Borderlands like a year back. I went absolutely crazy over it, playing it so many times with all the characters (except Roland) on top of co-op with the husband.

So yep am quite excited to find out that I can play FPS, just not ones with pixellated textures or backgrounds. The graphics in COD: MW2 are stunning so it helps. It is nice to get back into gaming after being burned out finishing Red Dead Redemption in a week. For the first time in a long time I did not fire up the 360 for a whole week! This obviously does not happen often. I am done with RDR until they come out with the co-op at the end of this month so the husband and I can go around in our mini posse. That is going to be fun!

Ooh boy this is a long post with tons of topics so I should really end the post. Hope everyone had an awesome weekend too!
